Love this, it is pricey but you massive servings that fill you up, great staff and service too, mochas are sweet so if you have a sweet tooth it's perfect
Very nice place. Breakfast was delicious and so was their coffee. Their green juice was so delicious. I recommend this place for a nice bite to eat breakfast. It's relaxing and it has so much history.
This is not a fancy upmarket brunch place, this is an authentic, honest, down-to-earth canteen style cafe serving large tasty portions and strong cuban coffee. We came here twice during our trip and the "paquete" option is great value offering a fruit/juice, coffee and a main plate. Also the staff are worth mentioning as they were all attentive, friendly and polite, making us feel very welcome. If you want a delicious filling breakfast for a good price in a beautiful space that feels like part of history, head to Café La Habana and you won't be disappointed.
We went here twice on our stay in CDMX. Coffee is UNREAL delicious. The menu is good- I really enjoyed the chilaquiles and huevos divorciados. Enchilada suiza was not my favorite. The fresh juice is tasty. Atmosphere is super historic and the service is on point and charming at the same time. A great way to start the day.
This one of the great spots of Mexico City, especially on any givenSunday. The cafe reeks with days gone by in a classic way as cool in Mumbai as it is in Habana as it is in Miami . It a place Che met Castro for tea and to talk revolution. Its also the place of unbelievable guacamole and super-tasty orange/yellow rice and the best coffee in the city. A rare treat!
I loved this place! My companion, a real Chilango (native), told me that it was the place where Fidel Castro and Che met the first time. It has atmosphere of historic cafés that one can patronise for years. The waitstaff is so courteous and discrete. I am looking forward to going back. The coffee (even though I ordered decaf) was excellent. We were told it was from Veracruz local beans. The cake and molletes were also good . The fare is not high end, but totally comfort food . The exciting moment was when I shook hands with a famous journalist I recognised who was dining next to us. All in all, we spent a couple hours there and it was absolutely lovely.
Stopped for a coffee on the way walking in the city and got the triple cheese sandwich for the kids, it was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful even when we were struggling with our Spanish! It has an old club vibe and was quite busy during the evening on a weekday.
Walking around looking for good breakfast, instead of just grabbing a sandwich from a food stand, then I found this near where I am staying. Apparently this is once where Guevara and Castro met before, to plan their return to Cuba. Didn't know that before walking in. Also it was a journalist hotspot back then because it is near newspaper offices. Big open space inside, doesn't look like anything have change over the years and stay the same since 1950s. Very unique, nice to sit down and enjoy breakfast in this time capsule. Menu is full of Mexican classic breakfast. Food comes out quick and hot and very delicious. I did walk in at an odd time and there were no one there.
Good amount of food and good service. My cup is always filled with coffee and omelets are good. Pancakes were big size and bacons are not too thin. I got breakfast meal so it came with fruit which was papaya. Fresh and sweet. Several group of people visited this restaurant. Server was nice and took care of our table well. They decorated the restaurant with their historic cash registers and typewriters.
Yes, breathe in and feel the past, build in 1952 and a common hang-out for journalist, Fidel Castro & Che Guevara. This place feels like a blast from the past and one can feel the history. Food is plentiful, coffee is outstanding and service is really chill and friendly. Fabulous place for Mexican breakfast to sit back and reminisce the good old times.
